The five-year federal grant that funded SBIRT Colorado concluded on September 14, 2011. During the five years, Health Educators conducted screenings at twelve clinics and hospitals in nine Colorado counties: Arapahoe, Denver, Eagle, El Paso, Gunnison, Larimer, Mesa, Prowers, Summit and Weld counties. SBIRT Colorado also collaborated with the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, utilizing Ryan White Part B funding to expand SBIRT to clinics and AIDS Service Organizations that serve people living with HIV.
SBIRT Colorado also partnered with HealthTeamWorks to work with primary care offices throughout the state to integrate the Alcohol and Substance Use Screening Guideline into clinical practice using an interactive training. For more information on training opportunities still available, please call 303.369.0039 x245 or email SBIRTInfo@peerassist.org.
